I’ve just taxed our car (which we’ve been trying to do for a week!), Hubby is coming home for tonight so he can swap driving the slightly dangerous car for the new (now legal) one!
His email is now up and running and his website should be tomorrow!
All the things we’ve been stressed about for the past week and more are finally sorting themselves out. I also have a delicious cheesecake in the fridge that I made on Monday.
Back to the study! (I managed 30 mins before I had to go and get the tax disc this morning!)

study avoidance April 22, 2007
I finished all my prep for tonight yesterday so I could spend this afternoon studying. So far I’ve made myself a cup of tea, read a few blogs and I’m listening to a podcast which I may well reccommend to my young people tomorrow.
So I thought I’d post something, in a further attempt to avoid my study! I have an assignment due May 15th. I started writing it the other day, and have the grand word total of 136 words! (only another 1864 words to write then!) I’m more in the research stage. I gathered this when I tried to start writing it!
I’ve not much else to write. It’s been a good week. I’ve been practising not getting stressed! As a result I do seem happier. I arrived at Friday youth group very chilled, having had a bath in the afternoon.
I’ve got a one-off event before church tonight, we’re showing the edited video of the youth weekend away that was back in January. Time is getting on, I really should get on and do some study and stop writing pointless things!
Update – now 481 words and the first section is done (well the first draft of the first section!) I’ll tackle the main section (of 1000 words) another day.

In the past five weeks:
the vacuum cleaner broke
the sat nav had a wobbly turn (it appears to be working again)
the digital camera won’t download pictures
our car appears to be leaking petrol, hubby is out trying to buy a new car as I type!
Hubby’s website and email has been out of action for 5 weeks
I think that’s it!
Update – I forgot the shaver, that’s not working properly either!
me, today April 16, 2007
hurting, tired,
had enough
lack of confidence, want to be by myself or with hubby, don’t want to mix with others, don’t want to talk anymore
pressure of work, pleasing everyone
and yet just by admitting it, I feel calm again.
It’s ok.
It’s ok to find work difficult.
It’s ok to want to be quiet sometimes.
It’s ok.
And yet I will not break under the pressure,
I will keep things in balance,
I will take the time I need to relax
I will accept the difficult things and do my best
I will seek God’s will, his strength and his love.
Yeah, I’m ok, I’m just human.
good things about my life right now April 14, 2007
1. Hubby is home, around this weekend, and it’s just great having him back again.
2. The sun is shining, the tree opposite my office window is blossoming, and I’m enjoying rediscovering my summer wardrobe!
3. I feel almost prepared for the two youth groups I’ve planned for tomorrow.
4. Despite not having much food in the house, Hubby and I are having fun trying to come up with meals to cook out of the remaining ingredients! Weekly food shop is Monday.
5. We rearranged the office this week so I now have two desks! One is for my work work and one is for my study work. This is because I hurt my back doing my last assginment on the sofa, and thought a desk where I can leave my study materials out rather than the coffee table might help!
6. I feel on top of work and feel like I have time to spare! This will probably change rapidly next week as groups start back and my next assignment deadline looms closer, but I’m enjoying it for now.
7. We’ve bought a house that we will let and are making progress on sorting all the landlord stuff out. We’ve even got tenants lined up!
8. My lunch is about ready! We’re having toad in the hole.
he’s back, we went away, and now we’re back! April 7, 2007
Hubby got back on Monday after a successful tour of Ireland and Scotland. On Tuesday, we left for the isle of wight with the tandem. After a stressful morning not finding anywhere to park the car in Portsmouth (official car park was closed!) we ended up paying extra to take the car on the ferry over to the isle of wight. We found a street to park it on (free!) and then got on our bike to start the 62 miles around the island. I know that some keen cyclists could easily do this in a day, but we took four, taking time to enjoy the views and tourist attractions along the way!
Tuesday – 15 miles (ish) Whippingham to Bembridge
Wednesday – 23 miles (ouch) Bembridge to Brighstone
Thursday – 11 miles (massive hills though!) Brighstone to Yarmouth
Friday – 13 miles Yarmouth to Whippingham.
I unfortunately can’t post pictures as our digital camera is currently out of action, so they are all on film. By day four we definitely felt a bit fitter, though had very sore backsides! Strangely, I can’t wait to get the tandem out again and go for a good ride!
